A great wholesome pasta to make for the homies.
Luke Marino first made this for the boys at DDSS, and every rendition since has always brought good vibes to the homies.
It’s a nice, rich, veggie-heavy, and marinara-based pasta. This recipe probably serves about 6 or 7 big homies.

Ingredients
- 1 box of pasta marked with about 8 servings
- 1 box of button mushrooms (12 oz)
- 1 large onion
- 1 box of cherry tomatoes (the smaller tomatoes are sweeter and nicer)
- 1 large double handful of spinach
- 1 lb of ground meat (optional)
- “Meat seasonings”
- 1 cubic inch of butter
- 1 large can of marinara sauce (serving 8+)
- 1 or 2 boxes of chicken broth
- 3 bell peppers (red, orange, or yellow)
Instructions
- Add chicken broth to a pot; add water and salt until there’s enough liquid to cook the pasta, then bring to a boil.
- Add the spinach to the boiling water to help remove its bitterness.
- Chop the onion.
- Cut the bell peppers into strips.
- Lightly oil a large wok and sauté the onions.
- Add the bell peppers to the wok and sauté until they soften.
- Add the pasta to the boiling water.
- Slice the mushrooms and add them to the wok.
- Halve the cherry tomatoes.
- Optionally, cook the ground meat in a separate pan.
- Once the vegetables are tender, add the tomatoes.
- When the pasta is done, drain it and stir in some butter.
- In a large pot over medium heat, combine the pasta, sautéed vegetables (and meat, if using), marinara sauce, and spinach.
- Serve and enjoy!
Enjoy your meal!
